One Call Now, Wednesday, April 29

Good afternoon!  This is a message from the Northern Bands on Wednesday, April 29

What an exciting weekend for the Northern Bands!  We are hosting almost 30 bands from around Eastern Michigan.  we could use your help in 3 ways:

  1. We are still in desperate need of volunteers.  We will have over 1500 students in our building for the next three days.  Please consider giving us three hours of your time by volunteering to help with concessions or as an Usher.  I understand that some families aren’t in a position to participate in fund raisers. A few hours could make for lighter work for the others that have stepped up.
  2. Please encourage your student to volunteer a shift.  It’s an easy way to contribute to the cause.
  3. If you can’t help with a shift, please consider making a contribution to the bake sale that we run throughout the weekend.  A cake, a tray of cookies, some muffins, rice krispy treats… anything would be a great help.

Freshmen band members should bring their concert black outfits to school.  If there are any problems with any uniform, please let us know by Thursday.  Check your uniform tonight.

As always, parents are encouraged to attend and support the bands at concert and festival performances.  Knowing you are out listening to them really does contribute to the energy of the performance..

The Freshmen will performance will be at 3:50
The Symphonic Band will perform at at 7:00 PM and
The Northern Winds will perform at 8:45

A couple of events to catch you up on.

Two fund raisers running right now.  We are doing spring flowers and pizza kits.  Packets and information are in the band room.  You can also get details on PHNBB.com.

We gave away our first trip to Myrtle Beach to the grandmother of a freshman band student.  This trip included Airfare and hotel accommodations.  You are welcome to purchase a ticket.  There are 11 drawings left, 11 trips, including one to Hawaii, 11 cash prizes, and 11 oil changes.  Contact us for more information.

Band festival is this week.
Your students’ bands are performing on Friday.  The Symphonic Band has an after school rehearsal on Monday, the Freshman have one on Tuesday.   Students have a more detailed schedule in their possession.

Please ask them for a copy, if they have misplaced it, you can get a copy of all TWiBs at PHNBands.org

We are also looking for both student and parent volunteers to host festival Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  Thursday and Friday we need volunteers for a few hours at a time from 1:30 PM to 9:30 PM, and Saturday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  Parents, please contact us through PHNBB.com to volunteer.

Thank you so much.  We can only offer cool opportunities for kids if we have the help doing it.
